Five local agencies in the North San Pablo Bay region have formed the North Bay Water Reuse Authority (NBWRA) to put recycled water to its broadest and most beneficial use.
WHO WE ARE
The partners of NBWRA include: Napa Sanitation District, Sonoma Valley County Sanitation District, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District and Novato Sanitary District. North Marin Water District and Napa County are also providing financial and technical support for the project.
The Project is the North Bay Water Recycling Program and the North Bay Water Reuse Authority oversees it.
Why NBWRA Was Formed
Public agencies had been seeking a solution the water challenges facing the region and recycled water met the needs for:
- A water supply that can reliably supplement ever more scarce water supplies.
- A way to reuse water rather than send this quality resource unused into the bay.
- Reliable irrigation supply for parks, public landscaping and vineyards.
- Restoration of wetlands.
- Improved stream flows for riparian habitat and fisheries recovery.
- All at a reasonable cost.
