FEDERAL FUNDING
The Omnibus Public Lands Management Act was signed into law by President Barack Obama on
March 30, 2009. The Act authorizes a 25 percent federal cost share to plan, design and build
several recycled water projects in the North Bay.
The US Bureau of Reclamation provided 50% of the funds for the study phase of
the Program. The Authority supported the efforts of Congressman Thompson and his bill P.L.
102-575 that provides for Reclamation's continued participation in the implementation phase.
This partnership also assists Reclamation with their mission to provide assistance to programs
that will be operated and maintained by the local sponsor, contribute toward endangered species
recovery and demonstrate balanced approaches to meeting all water users needs.
