THE NORTH BAY WATER RECYCLING PROGRAM - PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Phase 1 and Alternatives | Phase 1 Marin County | Phase 1 Sonoma County | Phase 1 Napa County | Three Alternatives
Environmental studies analyze the Phase 1 projects to a project level that provide adequate detail to approve and construct the projects.
There is also program level analysis of three alternative plans, called alternatives 1, 2 and 3, that are incrementally larger than Phase 1. Program Level analysis of the three alternatives is a cost effective way to provide an initial environmental analysis. If NBWRA decides in the future to expand beyond Phase 1, additional engineering, project level environmental analysis, development of funding, and formal public review would be required.
ALTERNATIVE 1 : Basic System
6,500 ACRE-FEET OF RECYCLED WATER USE :
Recycled water from various water treatment plants is used near each plant.
ALTERNATIVE 2 : Partially Connected System
11,200 ACRE-FEET OF RECYCLED WATER USE :
Adds pipelines and more recycled water storage to Alternative 1, partially connecting the treatment plants.
ALTERNATIVE 3 : Fully Connected System
12,700 ACRE-FEET OF RECYCLED WATER USE :
Fully connects all treatment plants with additional pipelines and storage.
